The position of India was far superior to what the English thought it could be when they orinally arrived in India. Thus, the birth of the plan on how to conquer India as outlined here by Lord Macauley. And it seems to have worked quite well. It’s affects are still being felt, and the English educational system in India seems to remain intact in many ways.
However, if we bring India back to appreciating its own culture and values as it once had, as many Westerners are presently doing in their regard for Eastern philosophy, then we can again preserve India’s high caliber of culture and character without losing it all to the system and values of the invaders who had their own agenda for India, which was to conquer and convert.
