Can’t these political parties do developmental work without hurting the religious sentiments of the people of this country?
Be it the religious minorities or the majorities, the political parties of India have only used them as vote banks in this country.
While the BJP and other ideological allies of it have used the majority sentiments to fuel their vote bank, the so called secular parties led by Congress have used the minority sentiments to maintain their vote supplies.
Inspite of the minorities of India consistently voting for the Congress party over the past 60 years since Independence, the Sachar committee report clearly proves that the successive Congress led governments at the Centre have failed to improve the status of minority muslims in this country. But look at the Irony, the same Congress is again using the Sachar Committee report, which actually is a failure report on the performance of Congress, to get more muslim votes!
India is not Pakistan. In Pakistan everything related to other religions might have been demolished and destroyed, the recent one being the attack on Buddha . Hindus who were 15% of the population of Pakistan in 1947 are less than 2% of its population today! Where did the others go? On the other hand In India, being a true secular nation, the population of Muslims has steadily increased. Every Indian is proud about the religious diversity of this country. Every known religion of the world exists and flourishes in India today.
The BJP and allies hurt the sentiments of minorities of this country by the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992.
The UPA government led by the Congress is all set to do a similar Babri Masjid on Hindus by hurting the sentiments of the majorities, by moving ahead with their plans to destroy the Ram Sethu, a historical bridge that connected South India to Srilanka at the Palk Straight when the sea level was lower millenniums back. The Government wants to build a deep sea canal called Sethusamudram here, by destroying a large part of the Ram Sethu bridge.
It all started with a Blunder called Sethusamudram , and the latest one being the controversial affidavit filed by the Government of India with the Supreme Court, stating that there is no historical evidence to prove the existence of Ram and Ram Setu .
Well dear, who the hell needs a historical evidence for Ram Setu when you have an archeological structure right in front of you? First investigate and do research about it, come out with a concrete scientific explanation about the reason for its existence. If it was not buit by Ram, then there should be atleast somebody else who built it. It is definitely not a natural structure. Look at the aerial photographs below. Can a natural structure be as precise as this?
As one of the blog readers rightly commented saying, The Congress party should stop using the name of Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji thoughout his life believed in Ram, and even his last words while dying were Hey Ram. And today Congress party itself is saying that Gandhiji’s beliefs were baseless !
Yes, looks like the Congress has moved from Hey Ram in 1947 to No Ram in 2007!

And as for Ram, even if we for a moment stop debating about the historical evidence of the existence of Ram, isn’t it a fact that he is worshipped by the majorities of this Country as God? Will the Congress/UPA parties ever dare to say that There is no historical evidence to prove the existence of Allah!
Its simply ridiculous to make statements like these and play with the sentiments of the people and create unnecessary controversies which finally lead to a chain of events creating a social unrest in the country. Every person in this country has a right to his/her religion and any developmental activity should be inclusive, not exclusive, and should respect the religious sentiments of all communities.
Its completely unacceptable when a Government whose primary responsibility is to maintain the law and order situation in the country, instead starts providing a window of opportunities for creating social unrest. Any sane person knows the outcome of a provocative statement like There is no historical evidence to prove the existence of Ram or Ramsetu !
There was no historical evidence of Mahabharata either, till the submerged ruins of the city of Dwaraka were found in the seas of Gujarat some time back. Dwaraka is mentioned in Mahabharatha as a city which was swallowed by the sea after the Great war. What will the government do, if it destroys the Ramsethu today and tomorrow its found that this was indeed a man made ancient construction? What about the loss of a cultural heritage structure in this country? Does the Congress wants to create another Black Day in India?
Let me be honest. What worries me more about the destruction of this structure is the fear of a Tsunami in this region. Experts have repeatedly warned that the existence of this structure has been protecting the western coast of India, especially the coasts of Kerala, from the disastrous tsunamis that are a frequent phenomenon in the eastern seas of India. The moment this structure is removed, the western coast of India becomes exposed and vulnerable to the tsunamis from the east.
Kerala will be at a greater risk. The chances of the loss of life and property in Kerala will become bigger. Not only that, but the large amount of Thorium deposits of India that are found in the shores of Kerala will get washed away! I am surprised why there is not much protest in Kerala against the destruction of this bridge! Probably it is a little known fact that it was the existence of Ram Sethu which prevented a greater loss of life and property in Kerala during the previous tsunami that stuck the east coast of India!
In a nutshell, the people of India should at any and every cost prevent the construction of SethuSamudram Canal if it is going to be done by destroying the Ram Sethu.
The moment we Indians stop identifying ourselves as Hindus or Muslims while casting our votes, and instead vote as Indians , all these present day political parties will cease to exist. Hope that day comes soon.
