I agree with abdul, that the so called secular parties are only using minorities as votebanks. How long will they continue to keep saying ‘backward communities should be brought up in the society’ ??? When will they really ‘bring up’ the backward communities?

India is secular democratic country, hence thinking of Hindu PM or Sikh PM is nonsense… on the basis of relegion one should not attain higher post… our constitution doesnt permit that actually…. recently people proudly (!!?) making point that India had many muslim presidents, chief ministers and governors… My point is why Indian politics is not allowing a Muslim to the Prime Minister post? why?

Good observations Gurudev. As Rajiv Malhotra noted in his latest article, the power dynamics in America is shaped by the culture of whiteness. In terms of power sharing, how much real, institutional power one can win in America depends on where one falls in the ""whiteness scale"". Rajiv writes: I see three dimensions to whiteness in America today: (1) as a secular blend of race, ethnicity and culture; (2) as a civic religion based on Judeo-Christianity/Bible; and (3) as a socioeconomic status. How White you are is measured in this 3-dimensional model. All other identities are based on difference from whiteness. By contrast in India, the equivalent power-sharing dynamic is ""hinduness"". How ""Hindu"" one is can be as simple as where one falls on the Gandhi scale of hinduness i.e. on the scale of non-violence.

I cant believe this because I just talked about this in my politics class! This is what I exactly asked my teacher, “”Why is it that there are not that many minorities in this country?”" Before she could answer I said, “”We have muslim pres. etc..”".
All she said, “”umm thats interesting”". What a fucked up answer. She obviously had no idea what to say!
