Elections are going on at UP for the state assembly. The so called IT folks of UP are all over India ranging from the silicon valley of India, Bangalore in the south to Gurgaon in the North. But why is UP in so bad state today? Obviously bcos of the corrupt criminal communal political class of the state..
My question is how many of these IT/ITES/related professionals from UP are going back to their state this month to case their valuable votes?? If you are from UP and are going to cast your vote in this election, very good, you can stop here, else read on
Your state cannot develop and flourish just by sitting in your AC chambers and forwarding emails about the bad state of affairs in uttar pradesh, nor just talking about heavy crime rate in UP or the corruption of your representatives or the vote bank caste based politics which is ruining the state.
Being an educated (?!) citizen the least that you should do as a duty towards your nation is to cast your vote when the elections come and elect the representatives who you feel can develop your state.
Dont give silly arguments like I dont feel like voting to any candidate as all are corrupt and criminal, because you can still go to the voting booth and cast your vote against form 18, which says that you dont want to vote to any of the candidates as you feel none are eligible, this will be registered as a negative vote against all and if in a constituency more than certain percent of electorate vote for form(18) then there will be a re-election with new set of candidates! Learn the rules before blaming that there is none. In India there are all kinds of laws, only people are ill informed.
Next time before you forward an email about bad governance in uttar pradesh, or complain about the lack of basic needs or blame corruption or criminals, just ask a question to yourself, did I cast my vote to elect my representative?, If the answer is no, shame on you and your education, dont call yourself a responsible citizen or an educated gentleman/gentlewoman, better than you are those uneducated (which I dont feel so) villagers who went out and casted their vote. DONT ASK FOR YOUR RIGHTS WITHOUT PERFORMING YOUR DUTIES.
I would prefer a law in India which says that your fundamental rights are guaranteed only if you are performing your fundamental duties.
Remember that, if you have not cast your vote then, YOU ARE EQUALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FAILURE OF YOUR STATE ALONG WITH THE MULAYAMS AND MAYAWATIS
So next time include your name as well in that list of people resposnsible for the sorry state of UP if you have not cast your vote
