Yes Kavitha while 90% of the humans are ready to reverse what they have done, they are in no power to do so, being controlled by the 10% who are in power and who are not willing to do so. The research and inventions by the multinational companies should always have a fundamental principle, “BE ECO FRIENDLY” which they dont and then any laws against these MNC forced by the 90% people are overrided by the 10% category politicians.

In the long run the survival of humans in their current form depends on who wins finally among the 90% and 10%. We need to keep in mind that the 90% are the consumers category who taken in whatever the 10% gives. So if the 10% finds an alternative to plastic, an alternative to fossil fuels, etc the 90% would have no problem adopting to it when they are forced to. So it is at this production level where the change has to come from. Why are the oil companies against any meaningful research in alternative renewable technologies? It answers it all.

Well if earth is to be saved for human consumption, then it makes earth as a commodity which earth is not
A single super volcano from the earth’s interior is enough to wipe out humans and life on earth will evolve fresh after that. The key is earth can still survive and thrive with or without humans. But for earth, humans have nowhere to go in this universe. Earth is protecting humans not the other way round. So no save earth please, its save humans by undoing all past and present wrongs of mankind

Is not that “Save Earth so that it sustains human lives” a greedy human attitude?
Does not it confirm what Gurudev has been saying in this article that:
If not for human species being in danger would humans have really cared to “Save Earth”?

Thousands of other species have been wiped out of this planet due to human greed and no humans thought of saving earth then. Now that the global warming has become a threat to their very own existence, they want to Save Earth!

Lets not call it “Save Earth”, either call it “Save Earth to Save Humans” or call it “Save Humans”, the greedy species.

Hi Gurudev,
Here is how I see it and that is probably because of how I interpret the English language. “Save Earth” as I see is same as “Save Water”. You know “Save Water” means save it for human consumption. The same way “Save Earth” is to protect earth so that it sustains our (human) lives.
I do appreciate you bringing forth the need to realize the contribution of nature (trees) for our lives. We have to jump from just limiting our thoughts to fuel-efficient cars/things to fuel-efficient humans. I guess reducing carbon foot print is a move in that direction.
