This is something that we should ensure that it DOES NOT happen in India.

Nobody thought that this would happen so soon.. China can finally say that it is ahead of US… China is now the largest…
No, I am not talking about development.. I am talking about pollution :)
China is the now the largest emitter of Carbon dioxide (CO2) in the world. If we are to believe the reports of Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, in 2006 China emitted 6200 m tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere, compared to 5800 of US

Almost one new coal mine is being opened in China every week today! Even though US has world’s largest coal reserves, China is the world’s largest coal consumer today! So one can imagine how the greed for cheap energy is neglecting the ill effects on nature and the people of its own country. China is simply burning up its huge coal reserves left and right, to produce cheap electricity!

Every year 460,000 people die prematurely in China due to diseases caused by polluted air and contaminated water! China today has 16 of the world’s top 20 polluted cities !

There is a saying in Kannada ????????? ??????? ???, meaning ‘In the deserted ruins of a town, the one who stays back will be crowned as the king’! Of what use will be this kind of development to China, if all it gets is, its villages and cities becoming uninhabitable? If its people are suffering from various pollution related illness ? What will be the productivity of its youth?

Don’t we have a duty towards nature? Development at the cost of nature? Western countries might have done it in the past 200 years in the name of industrialization. Should the east follow the same path? At least India, where people worship nature, should not follow this path.

We need to accelerate our look out for alternate non polluting energy resources. The core of the earth is very hot.. Can we use it to generate power? There are volcanoes in the Andaman islands of India.. Cant we try to gain access to the hot magma below these volcanoes and try to generate power using them? Totally non polluting..

How about using those who do work outs every day in the gyms running on thread mills for weight loss?? They can be used to generate energy too! Just tie a dynamo to their legs, and let the thread mills be mechanically powered, for some time let one guy power the thread mill while the other runs on it, and then later let them exchange roles.. electrical thread mills should be banned or the government should introduce new gym tax.. who asked these people to eat so much of junk ;) I still haven’t understood the concept of running, being at the same place.. It looks so odd and funny every time I look inside our office gym.. I don’t go to gym, I think I have better ways to spend my energy ;)

What about the lightning that strikes every year all over the planet? Is there some way to harness it? There is of course solar energy too..

How about generating power using sea / ocean waves? We need to use existing natural activities to generate the power we need.. Nature is generating more power than humanity would actually require, just look at the waves on a seashore.. we just need to tap it.. Not simply dig up earth and throw up everything in the air as if land, air and water is our great grandfather’s property.. earth does not belong to our ancestors, it belongs to the coming generations, not just to humans, to all species on the planet..

See the videos below to know how the Chinese people are suffering due to pollution..
Don’t miss them, its a lesson for India.. we should learn from the mistakes, not just from our mistakes, but from those that other make, including China…

As of today, China is the world’s largest exporter of green house gases and the largest ‘Made in China’ product is called ‘Pollution’
