On an average, every day 17 miners who work in the Chinese coal mines do not return home after the day’s work!
China is opening almost one new coal mine every week, to meet its growing energy needs, and is competing with US to become the largest global polluter.
Keeping pollution aside, Chinese coal mines are one of the most dangerous places to work at in the world today. Can you imagine 17 miners getting killed on an average every day!! Safety precautions are totally neglected. There is no value for human life. Workers are treated like replaceable robots! Just last year over 5000 workers have died inside the Chinese coal mines. Can you believe that ever since the Chinese communist party took over China in 1949, till today over 2,50,000 people have died in these Chinese coal mines!
Just last Friday 172 Chinese coal miners got trapped in Huayuan Mine Co and 9 more in a nearby coal mine, and all of them are feared to be dead, rescue workers saying that the 3300 feet deep mines where these helpless people are trapped is being flooded with water from the river Wenhe nearby. And the Chinese officials are terming this as a natural disaster!! Civil affairs minister Li has said the government DOES NOT normally pay compensation for people killed by natural disasters, but since this happened during PRODUCTION the government will give assistance! This disaster was again due to gross negligence by the authorities. Two other nearby mines were closed a week before this incident as the danger of flooding was known already, and yet these mines ignored safety and made nearly 600 workers to get down into the mines, only to be trapped and killed!
Riot police are put in place to lathi charge and silence the relatives of the trapped miners who have gathered around the site! The officials say some of the families might want to make trouble!! Look at the way the communist government of China treats its own people and their sentiments.
The state run news channel gave only a summarized 30 seconds report on the incident and all local Chinese reporters were ordered to leave the disaster site! The relatives of the trapped miners are been warned by the company officials not to come near the mine and not to speak to the media either!
By the way look at the motto of this coal mine company Absolute discipline and absolute execution of orders! How on earth can anybody call it a motto, it looks like the employees are treated like bonded laborers. Even as per Chinese law at a time only a maximum of 30 workers are allowed to work at each level in a mine. And in this mine, when there were all chances of a flooding and a risk of disaster nearly 700 people were working at the same time!! What a greed for money? no law, no value for human lives!
See the difference between India and China , development should always be FOR the people of the country, not AT THE COST OF the people of the country.

Wonderful information on the nine unknown men ursri, I was not aware of this! Thanks for that
As for industries on moon, we can do mining of mineral resources there run by robots, we can have factories run by robots there, all these preventing destruction of natural resources on the beautiful earth, preventing pollution on earth!!
As for the feasibility of this is concerned, we think its impractical because we are not ‘used to it’ today. Before the aeroplane was invented, people laughed at the thoughts of transporting passengers across continents in something as big as a Boeing 747!
Some scientist had said that people will die of suffocation if they travel in superfast trains! He should have seen today’s bullet trains!
Yes, technology in wrong hands and misuse of technology is definitely a concern. But that is something that cannot be helped today and we have to live with this reality. The only way out being good moral education for all kids on the planet
Yes, a lot of scarcity in the world is artificial including that of energy, food, wealth, etc. There is no actual scarcity as such. What really exists is improper distribution and inefficient utilisation.
As Gandhiji once rightly said ‘The earth has enough for man’s need but not for man’s greed’!

Tech advancement is important and it is essential Gurudev.
But the question is who should direct such plan? Take the example of Iraq war. Did common Americans gained out of the war? At whose cost the war was carried out? The crude oil price was raised well ahead of war and we Indians along with developing or underdeveloped countrymen paid more money for the oil so as to make America win over Iraq.
OK. What kind of industries in moon should be set up which can serve living being on earth? OR how practical would it be to set up industry on moon and get the benefit of it at earth?
Would like to refer to Nine Unknown Men founded by Emperor Ashoka to preserve and develop knowledge that would be dangerous to humanity if it fell into the wrong hands. This would mention about ancient India’s sophisticated warfare knowledge and moral responsibility.
Second link: The Legend of the Nine Unknown Men
India has planned for Chandrayaan I . Mission objective is to find various minerals and elemental chemical species including radioactive nuclides covering the entire lunar surface. Heard that there is a race bwn nation to use these minerals for energy purpose as we are heading towards power crisis.
Well, the indigenous Avenue tree’s bio-diesel got less exposure compared to crude oil rat race- it is purely an artificial energy scarcity creation and marketing strategies.

Yes ursri
We should definitely preserve the nature and save our planet earth.
But at the same time outer space exploration is altogether another different issue. This is in the genes of mankind. Humans have been exploring, inventing, discovering, building things. The only difference being the east mainly concentrated on inner discoveries to know about the outer/inner world, the west went the other way round. It is just a matter of time before both the directions fuse into a single mainstream.
While we should concentrate on preserving nature and everything that we have on earth, at the same time man needs to look beyond into the outer space too.
Imagine if we can shift all our factories and industries to moon or some other planet where no life can live, and save pollution on earth. Well I think I got another idea

Little correction and addition to 3rd para of prev. comment.
The man’s struggle to find another extra terrestrial living being, suitable place for living by sending probes to methane ocean covered Titan or 2 rovers working from past 2-3 yrs red planet-the Mars. Where is a place to man other than this beautiful earth? Why is he not respecting the nature and fellow creatures?
While the same man is yet to understand what life is. Why is he restricting himself that other living being must survive only with oxygen or its forms? It is still surprising that he is relying on 5 receptive organs and tech instruments which give approximate info about supreme energy and are yet to be educated to receive/perceive other form of this energy to analyze the matter as whole.

Well, the topic started with concern for chinese citizen and is switched to sending man to moon.
In my view whether it is America, India, China, Pakistan, Afganistan or Somalia( my special concern for these 2 countrymen) etc.., a common man is still ruled by their own greedy country men. It is no doubt he will get external support, may also include their own country’s enemy to exploit fellow citizen. Unless common realize and excercise their strength and come united for good cause no one can help them.
Here goes my view on technology and misery. After all what did we achieve on earth on misery by sending man to moon? We only increased or helped the greedy to to make use of technology, make more business, become their slaves thats all. How far the eligible troubled are helped by tech? I am not advocating ban on technology.. Thanks to internet i could learn many things everyday and share what ever found authentic. My concern is motive behind tech advancement. We are able to reach any corner of world with few cents / paise thourgh satellite links. Are we able to reach the hungry man and fulfil his needs with few rupees atleast? Being avid science studen I am also regular visitor to Astronomy Picture of the Day from past 5 yrs. There are so many queries aroused and mysteries still unanswered. Especially conducive living place for human being apart from earth. 2 rovers are successfully working from past couple of yrs to find life on Mars. Sent a probe to Titan found only methane pool. We have such a beautiful earth to live and why are we spoiling it.
From a reference about physics/science/tech…
The classical world-view of physics must give way to the currently emerging worldview. Physiss/tech/science at present is a training which is creating human slaves with unmotivated, directionaless strength, who are waiting to be finaced by and to be employed by some agencies who hae the power to do so. It is thus not the knowledge and the wisdom which gives direction to the society, releases the social and environmental energies to contribute to a rich vibrant human culture, and is not linked to that universal wisdom which makes as indivudual realize himself, and release him or her from all the wordly pettiness.
This is a link to NASA’s explanation to allegation on no man landing on moon.
I would be interested to know if any one finds Nasa’s explaination objected and disproved further.

What a co incidence, I just thought about this today afternoon while in the office canteen.. India has chances to rewrite textbook syllabus as first country to send men on moon!
And then NASA will say that due to Moon’s extreme temperatures the flag withered off
loading...
loading...
I hope we have a manned mission there before 2020 and then NASA’s lie about 1960′s landing is proved officially. Then Indianswill be the first men on moon
At least the manned mission can search for the US flag which NASA proudly showed being put on Moon’s surface. If no flag is found, then no one had gone!!

Yes Oemar, the next date announce by NASA for a manned moon trip is in 2020. I think by then India should complete at least a dozen manned moon trips
We have PSLV which can take us there and bring us back, let us have manned mission around moon first and in the mean time develop landing modules and protective suite for the astronauts. Lets aim high!

I am coming back to this post after a week I think. Anyway, yes I do agree with Gurudev on the questions raised by Anonymous. Plus its not that NASA can never tell truth. Its just that its lies are sometime so big that they overshadow the truth. If it was so simple to send a man to the moon some 40 years back, why have they not done that again? Or why not some other countries. Certainly we have much more advanced technology right now!!

The Ram sethu photographs are not just NASA pictures. Any earth bound satellite can take these photographs. Marine specialists on the spot have confirmed the existence of this bridge long back. Even common people have visited this place.
You can see an aerial photograph taken from a plane too!
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ea/Adams_Bridge_aerial.jpg
The debate is not over the existence of the bridge, its only about whether it is natural or is it man made
Also, one of the photographs is from the satellites of Indian Space Research Organization ISRO.
You can also see it on Google earth. Here is the link
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=rameshwaram&sll=29.975734,31.13747&sspn=0.007714,0.01442&ie=UTF8&ll=9.127182,79.572601&spn=1.12538,1.845703&t=k&z=9&om=1
By the way I am not saying that the sethu was built by rama. All I am saying is, dont destroy it, it definitely has some backing in the form of Ramayana, so leave it open for further research, debate. What if tomorrow some research proves that it indeed has some cultural or historic value?
Natural or man made, it needs to be preserved. Even scientific grounds recommend preserving it to protect the west coast of India from tsunamis and other sea disasters, which would also pose a threat to the thorium found on the shores of kerala.

hi gurudev,
looking at the theories (even earlier) most of them feel that he has not landed on moon…but on other side of the coin we are trusting NASA for there pictures about saraswati river and ram sethu ???
The only thing is how one judges the truth behind these photos as well ??

Nice to hear that Oemar, finally I have a friend who also believes that Armstrong didn’t land on Moon
Whenever I talk about it, people simply refuse to even discuss this matter! Its like something that cant be digested! But fact is a fact, no matter how hard it might be to digest.
Look at this wonderful link http://www.ufos-aliens.co.uk/cosmicapollo.html

Thats is very true… Russian space program has bigger experience and experiance than American, though the American one might look more flashy. And I still refuse to believe that Mr. Armstrong landed on the moon. US space program had much lesser experience than the Soviet one, they could not have sent a man to the moon at that point of time. Just doesnt make sense.

yes, you are absolutely right oemar.
Unlike in democracies, people can easily be used for experimental purposes in communist regimes.
Yes, I have read about numerous explosions that killed soviet workers etc during test and launch phases, especially during the heights of cold war era when there was a space and moon race between US and USSR..
But one thing is for sure, soviets have mastered space more than the americans. Skylab and Mir tell about all the difference between the space expertise of these two countries. Even in building ISS russian space experience has added a great value..
Haha, nice post Oemar.. reincarnation banned!! communists are really the greatest jokers in world political history, caught and confused between ideology, culture and future

Perhaps China is taking a shot at population control this way. They have been known to come with much stupid ideas like this
http://oemar.wordpress.com/2007/08/21/can-china-get-weirder-than-this/
When Soviet Union broke up, there were so many hidden events from the past that came to light that it shocked the world. During the space race between USSR and USA, hundreds of cosmonauts in in Soviet had died during testing of rockets and controlled environment. This was never released that time as it would affect the image of the space program. China is much worse I believe. And this is oriental torture at its best – On its own people.
