    Insane Hussain

    Posted by Gurudev under Society

Is it in the blood of these people or are they like that by birth ?

I am talking about people like M F Hussain. Some may call him artist, I call him a hurtist, one who hurts the feelings of others, just because those others don’t react.

Yes, I am talking about the nude paintings of Hindu gods and goddesses by this stupid person who believes that scratching lines and giving strokes like a nursery child is world class painting !

Let me make it clear. I am not objecting to the nudity in his paintings. There are hundreds of nude images and sculptures on the temples of India which are of world class unlike the stupid lines and strokes of Hussain. Nor am I saying this because Hussain is a Muslim.

What I am objecting is to the mindset of this person. Look at some of his work here .

All Hindu gods and goddesses Lakshmi, Parvati, Saraswati, hanuman, Ganesh.. even mother India-Bharatmata are painted nude

Well, let us for a moment think this is art.. but then look at his other set of paintings..

Hussain’s mother, his daughter, prophet’s daughter, Muslim poets, Muslim lady are all painted with full clothes! What does this mean? Isn’t he trying to create unnecessary religions tension in the society?

Thankfully Hindus dont believe in an eye to eye approach, because as Gandhi said An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.

It is people like Hussain who make this entire earth a hell. These are the ones who spread hatred amongst otherwise calm and peaceful societies. The government should be strong enough to arrest and throw these people behind the bars for inciting communal tensions in the country.

If the danish cartoonist has hurt the feelings of muslims worldwide by depicting funny cartoons of prophet, then so has Hussain hurt the Hindu sentiments by his paintings. Both are equally guilty of spreading religious hatred.

My suggestion is to ignore such people. We have to be informed about what they did. But we should not react to them. They are silly insane people.

There is a saying in India If a mad dog bites a man, should he bite back to that dog?

So my request to all my Hindu, Muslim, Christian brothers is.. don’t react to such people, be it a cartoonist or a painter.. they do such things for cheap publicity since they don’t have any real talent to show.. a Fine Arts student of Bangalore’s Chitra Kala Parishat draws better paintings than Hussain or the cartoonist..

As they say in India A dog’s barking cannot spoil heaven

Dogs like Hussain or the danish cartoonist cant spoil our heaven.

I think you have misunderstood the first line of my article and have written this comment.
Look at the very next line of mine, and let me make it very clear, the first line refers to a group of people like Hussain, Togadia, etc irrespective of their religion or faith, and DOES NOT refer to any particular faith or religion as such.

I have not recommended any violence as a solution, because I simply dont believe in it.

Look at the last lines of my article, this is what I have said as a solution
“”So my request to all my Hindu, Muslim, Christian brothers is.. dont react to such people”" :)

    Correction to my last para:
You have to bear in mind that the articles that you write which incites hatred or ridiculing someone, only further aggravates the problem; not solutionises it.

    Your well wisher,
    Sachin

    Guru,
Although your articles are rational and advises/suggestions pretty practical, can you please tone down when you have to make a point? Most of your articles when written against a view or a common perception are such inflammatory that yours extremism to it almost equates to what you are against it. As much as I love to read your articles, it hurts that inspite of the ability, they are prepared in a very aggressive, unfriendly approach.
You have to bear this in mind that article that you write which causing hatred against someone further aggravates the problem not solutionises it.

Yes you are right… These people want to create controversies and make a living out of that…

Hussein is and useless fellow. and this is how he gets popularity and sell his paintings.

  7. Dev says:

    Hi GD ..

I completely agree. Mr Hussain is a hypocrite. He has different standards in his work. In the name of FINE ARTS, we cannot accept such inflammatory paintings.

But, what makes me feel hurt is when some section of the society reacts/protest .. They are termed as communal forces/ indian talibans .. I agree the way of protest was incorrect as no one should take law in hand. But, the same happened when muslim world reacted strongly against cartoon issue.

I would rather advocate diplomatic solutions to such issues like discouraging paintings, not buying them at all, etc. “”Gandhigiri”" as recently become so much popular in India.
