Great Buddhist statues at Bamiyan might have been destroyed by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Buddhism might have been declining in China after the communist regime took over, but it is not so in India. India even today is home to millions of Buddhist refugees, who fled to India from Tibet in 1949 when China invaded Tibet. The Buddhist spiritual master Dalai Lama lives in India. The Tibetans are at home in India and live a peaceful Buddhist life! India always has welcomed people from all over the world, be it a Bangladeshi Muslim, or a Tibetan Buddhist, or an Israeli Jew, India never denies you 
One of his students asked Buddha,
Are you the messiah?
No, answered Buddha.
Then are you a healer?
No, Buddha replied.
Then are you a teacher? the student persisted.
No, I am not a teacher.
Then what are you? asked the student, exasperated.
I am awake, Buddha replied.
Awake, rise, see and understand the reality, a reality called India!
