Congress only votes matter - No matter how

The above newspaper clipping, I saw it in the online edition of the Gujarati newspaper Sandesh (page 15), dated Yesterday Dec 14 2007! Look at the advertisement there on the bottom right corner.

Wondering who the person is? Well, he is the dreaded Pakistani terrorist, Masood Azhar, the leader of the terrorist group Jaish e Mohammed.

Wondering who gave an advertisement in Gujarati newspapers with his photo? The Congress Party! Look at that hand, well known to “give haath”

A party which used to publish advertisements with the photos of Mahatma Gandhi and ask for votes in his name, today has replaced that photo with that of a terrorist, Masood Azhar!

Gandhiji probably knew that such a day would come in the future Which is why I think, Gandhiji wanted the Congress party to be dissolved immediately after independence in 1947, but Nehru didn’t allow it then. And today we have congress party replacing Gandhi’s photo with that of Masood Azhar.

Why did Congress place this advertisement in the newspapers? Because BJP had alleged the Congress of supporting terrorism indirectly by not implementing the judgment passed by the country’s highest judicial authority, the Supreme Court of India, to hang Afzal Guru, the main conspirator in the case of parliament attack by terrorists.

Congress, instead of responding to this allegation by giving valid reasons (if any) for not implementing the supreme court’s verdict, has started this blame game of saying “even you did it”!

Which is why it released this advertisement saying, even the earlier NDA government had freed a captured terrorist Masood Azhar, in the Indian Airlines hijack incident of Kandhahar.

What sort of responsible governance is this? Does Congress think that the people are fools?

The BJP led NDA government had released Masood Azhar because otherwise the hijackers had threatened to blow up the plane and kill hundreds of passengers in it. Any government would have released the terrorist to save the lives of hundreds of its civilians. If Congress was there in power at that time, even it would have done the same.

What is Congress trying to imply by this advertisement now? Is it trying to say that the NDA government should not have released Masood Azhar and instead allowed hundreds of passengers in the plane to be killed?

On the other hand, what compulsion does Congress have today to hang Afzal Guru? Whose lives do they want to save by not hanging him? Its already over five years since the parliament attack incident took place. There is already a Supreme Court order to hang him. And still the Congress lead central government is not willing to implement the death sentence given to this terrorist.

Is not congress encouraging terrorists by not hanging Afzal Guru? It sends a clear green signal to terrorists saying that even if you get caught after your acts of terror, even if there is ample evidence available for your acts, even if the country’s highest judicial authority gives you the maximum allowed punishment of death penalty, even then you are safe!!

What is the Congress afraid of? Or is it votebank politics? There is a saying in Kannada, ‘adakkella meter beku’, Congress lacks the required guts and will to punish terrorists. It was during the same Congress regime that rise of terrorism went unchecked in Kashmir and today has spread all over the country.

And today by publishing an ad with the photo of a terrorist, the Congress has only proved that all it is interested in is to get votes, no matter how and in whose name. Gandhi or Masood it doesnt really matter to them! And all those who vote for this party, blame yourselves the next time terrorists strike in this country.
