Kalari or Kalaripayattu of ancient India is the world’s oldest martial arts and is the mother of all modern martial arts like Karate, Kung Fu etc. The ancient Indian martial art was introduced into China by the Buddhist monks who went to China to spread Buddhism. And from there these martial arts traveled to the far east.

Interesting clips. I do believe the oldest martial arts to ever come about is from the land of Israel. The people of Israel have been around since the beginning of time, and now they have their own state. They have devoloped a formal style since the 30′s, called Krav Maga.
I may be wrong on this outlook, yet I see it as obvious, since Israel has had to defend itself from the beginning of time. There might not have been an “official” name to it, I do believe the oldest came from Israel, and then other places either developed their own, or copied Israels or other nations.
WoW, though a Keralite I never dig into this much details about Kalaripayatt
Yes Pradeep, many of us in India dont know the true richness of our ancient culture and heritage, thanks to the english education system and its syllabus which unfortunately our schools are following even today, which talks about obsolete theories like aryan invasion. This blog is an effort to bring into lime light the ancient richness.
