Latest news on Earth is that after the Indian moon mission Chandrayaan is said to have found traces of water on Moon, now NASA is going to bomb the moon today to determine the approximate amount of water deposit there!
Bomb the moon? Yes, smash a two ton kinetic rocket bomb made up of an empty Centaur rocket on the Moon at about 5600 mph creating about a five mile wide crater.
All these days humans were thought only to bomb their home planet Earth which has provided them a place in this otherwise hostile universe to live. Heard about traitors? Humans are the biggest traitors of Earth who have destroyed other species here, upset the environmental balance here, caused nuclear explosions here on a planet which has given birth to them and has sheltered them.
Which again brings me to my favorite culture, the ancient Indian vedic culture which tells every human to start his day with the following prayer
Samudra Vasane Devi, Parvatha Stana Mandale,
Vishnu Patni Namastubyham, Paadasparsham Kshamasvame
O Mother Earth! O Great Goddess shining in the apparel of the Ocean and conveying maternal love through the beautiful mountains! O beloved Consort of Lord Vishnu who sustains the whole creation! I bow unto Thee, forgive me as I walk and touch Thee with my feet, O Mother!
Every devout Hindu begins his day with this prayer which apologizes to mother Earth for he will be touching the planet Earth with his feet for the rest of the day. This is the beauty of the ancient vedic culture which teaches us to respect nature and live in line with the natural laws.
Take this in contrast to other lines of thought which say that God created Earth, nature and other animals for human beings to enjoy, as if Humans are some great achievers who came to earth after doing some great achievement in the other world. And at the same time these other lines of thought say that all human beings are sinners (and still God gave them Earth and nature to enjoy)! Doesnt this kind of religious sanctions give ethical license to humans to plunder this planet.
Coming back to the modern science which treats earth as a property in contrast to ancient Indian teachings which consider nature as something which we have leased from our future generations and needs to be protected and something which is as divine or more divine than the supreme God.
So what about bombing moon then to find water? Well humans have more water on Earth than on Moon, but sorry we have all polluted it with our wastes. We have caused glaciers to melt and water sources to dry out. Our activities based on mass consumption, materialism, consumerism or whatever has created new barren desert lands, are causing floods and tsunami and other havoc everywhere . Still we are not bothered. We are more concentrated on development by destroying nature. We are more concentrated on competition with each other building massive stockpiles of nuclear weapons, fighting each other in the name of My God and Your God.
While the Indian moon mission Chandrayaan tenderly took pictures of Moon and found traces of water, the americans went for an all out bombing of the moon! Shouldnt there be some civilised way of doing research?
As Agent Smith sums it up in the movie Matrix
“I’d like to share a revelation that I’ve had, during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you aren’t actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with its surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply, and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? –A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we… are the cure.”
So after having spread and multiplied and caused destruction on this planet, now we want to spread to other parts of this solar system, just like the way a Virus spreads throughout a body after infecting one part. And out immediate next target is to create a base on Moon and there by destroy that so far calm beautiful place.
We have made Planet Earth – a natural habitat of humans and which has supported life for millions of years as unfit for living through our pollution causing and environmental degradation causing activities – and lo, the same we humans now are looking at ways to make Mars fit for living. What an irony? The species which converted a heaven on earth into a hell, wants to now create a heaven on Mars.
What if there are some till now undiscovered life forms living on moon and we are going to bomb that place? Is it ethical? Isnt it a war crime? Isnt NASA or US aware that even according to the UN outer space treaty to which US is a signatory it is illegal to use outer space for any unnatural modifications and the Moon Treaty specifically bans any bombing of the Moon. If NASA really wants to find out the existence of water, cant it simply send a space probe to that part of the Moon’s south pole which carries an instrument to test the presence of water on landing? What if there is an alien base out there and they decide to take down Earth in retaliation? Is NASA causing SatyaNASA of Earth by this bombing?
The latest breaking news on an Alien Planet would be something like this.
“We have found evidences of life on earth and to confirm it we have sent a probe to bomb one of the most active parts of that planet”.
1. The species which converted a heaven on earth into a hell, wants to now create a heaven on Mars.
2. Is NASA causing SatyaNASA of Earth by this bombing?
Rightly said, Kudos!
Yeah, Michelle had an affair with the man on the moon and Barack got pissed.
Hmmmm. Was there actually something they felt they needed to bomb? And I’m not talking water!
Welcome back:.. After Long time… 9 rating for post asusual and 1 for coming back.
About technology advancement, motive and (mis)usage
My comments for Cold blooded murder is applicable to current topic http://hitxp.wordpress.com/2007/08/23/coal-blooded-murder/#comment-3088 i suppose.

Well, the topic started with concern for chinese citizen and is switched to sending man to moon.
In my view whether it is America, India, China, Pakistan, Afganistan or Somalia( my special concern for these 2 countrymen) etc.., a common man is still ruled by their own greedy country men. It is no doubt he will get external support, may also include their own country’s enemy to exploit fellow citizen. Unless common realize and excercise their strength and come united for good cause no one can help them.
Here goes my view on technology and misery. After all what did we achieve on earth on misery by sending man to moon? We only increased or helped the greedy to to make use of technology, make more business, become their slaves thats all. How far the eligible troubled are helped by tech? I am not advocating ban on technology.. Thanks to internet i could learn many things everyday and share what ever found authentic. My concern is motive behind tech advancement. We are able to reach any corner of world with few cents / paise thourgh satellite links. Are we able to reach the hungry man and fulfil his needs with few rupees atleast? Being avid science studen I am also regular visitor to Astronomy Picture of the Day from past 5 yrs. There are so many queries aroused and mysteries still unanswered. Especially conducive living place for human being apart from earth. 2 rovers are successfully working from past couple of yrs to find life on Mars. Sent a probe to Titan found only methane pool. We have such a beautiful earth to live and why are we spoiling it.
From a reference about physics/science/tech…
The classical world-view of physics must give way to the currently emerging worldview. Physics/tech/science at present is a training which is creating human slaves with unmotivated, directionaless strength, who are waiting to be finaced by and to be employed by some agencies who have the power to do so. It is thus not the knowledge and the wisdom which gives direction to the society, releases the social and environmental energies to contribute to a rich vibrant human culture, and is not linked to that universal wisdom which makes as indivudual realize himself, and release him or her from all the wordly pettiness.
Very True Gurudev.
But alas mankind has stoop down too low to say this is not ethical.
… and Obama gets Nobel prize for ‘piece’ :)
true, a president whose country is fighting two wars gets this prize :)
